Did everyone but me know Drumpf wears glasses?

On his Twitter feed is a photo of him sitting on his plane watching his wife's speech on TV. A zoom-in shows his glasses. They can't be just reading glasses, given how far away the TV is. This explains his squinty eyes in public -- he can't see, or his contacts bother him.

If he's near-sighted like me, contacts to help see farther away won't help him to avoid glasses because he'd still need reading glasses to see up close. Like many people when they get older, the lenses inside the eyes don't adjust very well anymore to see objects from different distances. If my far vision is corrected by glasses (or contacts), the near vision then suffers and the lenses in the eyes can no longer slightly distort to compensate for it. Many older people, even with 20/20 acuity, still need reading glasses for the same reason. Bifocals don't even work well in my case, and I'll often remove my glasses to read small print because my natural near-sighted condition works better than the magnification from the bifocals.

There's bifocal contacts available now that are "weighted" to keep the magnified part at the bottom of the eyes to help people see near objects, but my optometrist told me they don't work well because the magnification doesn't reliably stay at the bottom of the eyes and they're especially less effective for very near-sighted people like me.

Samantha Bee aired it on "Full Frontal."
