2016 Postmortem

If most of the states and I mean most of the states

will have Johnson and Stein on the ballot why do they Pollster do 2 way especially this close to the election?
I saw a headline Hillary only ahead by 1 head to head but it is a 2 point lead in the 4 way

I don't get it
