http://nymag.com/daily/intelligencer/2016/11/lebron-james-to-campaign-with-hillary-clinton-on-sunday.htmlThree-time NBA champ and Cleveland Cavaliers forward LeBron James is set to appear with Hillary Clinton in Cleveland this Sunday, two sources with information on the event told New York Magazine.
James and Clinton will appear together at a get-out-the-vote rally at the Public Auditorium in Cleveland, Ohio in the late afternoon.
This will be Jamess first appearance with Clinton. In fact, a source says, the two have never met.
James a hero to many Ohio sports fans, especially in the African American community could prove helpful to Clintons effort to win the states 18 electoral votes. While Clinton is handily beating Donald Trump among African American voters, she is struggling to gin up enthusiasm. According to the 2010 census, 53 percent of Clevelanders are African American.
James, a native of Akron, Ohio, formally endorsed Clinton through an op-ed in early October. Only one person running truly understands the struggles of an Akron child born into poverty, he wrote. And when I think about the kinds of policies and ideas the kids in my foundation need from our government, the choice is clear. That candidate is Hillary Clinton.

(44,972 posts)To have any chance of winning OH a democrat must get a lot of votes there.
I live in nearby Summit County. Places like Cuyahoga County, Summit, Franklin ... ALL need to overperform to make up for all the Trumpsters out in the rural areas.
I just think it's cool that LeBron is campaigning.

(44,972 posts)Cuyahoga is still way behind compared to 2012.

(44,972 posts)Cuyahoga is still way down and I don't think there is any way they can match early voting (absentee and in person) numbers to 2012 in remaining 3 days.
Unless they really turn out on election day.
Franklin is on track to match early voting in 2012, but Franklin is less democratic than Cuyahoga.
OH might be really close this year.

(44,972 posts)Way less absentee ballots requested this year vs 2012 (in Cuyahoga). In person voting is below as well, although in person early voting isn't very large in Cuyahoga since there is only one polling location per county for early voting. So I don't see any way to match 2012 in the remaining 3 days for Cuyahoga.
