(44,962 posts)If your numbers are down in the most democratic county of the state it isn't good.
Which is presumably why Hillary is in Cleveland campaigning right now.

(44,962 posts)What that doesn't tell you is that absentee from democrats are down but from republicans are actually up in Cuyahoga compared to 2012.

(44,962 posts)Article below has a graphic representation of absentee ballots requests in Cuyahoga. Democrats down compared 2012, Republicans slightly up.

(1,132 posts)they lost a full week of early voting.

(44,962 posts)Their absentee requests are actually up compared to 2012.
Charles Bukowski
(1,132 posts)When you should be looking at in-person voting. It seems like the good folks of Cuyahoga County made up a lot of ground in a short time, and she's crushing Trump in early voter polls there.
LisaL
(44,962 posts)They have one early voting location per the whole county. They are not pulling in huge in person voting numbers.
Their best day (so far) was almost 2,500 per day. And that is not a huge number compared to the county's population of registered voters of 891,568.
"In Ohio, in Cuyahoga County, we saw an almost 50 five zero percent increase in voters on Saturday and Sunday last weekend compared to Thursday and Friday leading up to it. Daily turnout in Cuyahoga has nearly doubled in the last week, going from 827 in person votes per day two weeks ago to more than 1400 votes per day last week. In fact yesterday Cuyahogas biggest day of early voting so far was yesterday almost 2500 voters went to the polls and voted early.

(44,962 posts)Whether or not it's consistent with a poll really isn't going to change how many people requested absentee ballots.

(21,915 posts)being talked about that may skew things for HRC relative to otherwise unfavorable data?
LisaL
(44,962 posts)Lets hope it works.

(1,132 posts)with very few links. Interesting.
LisaL
(44,962 posts)Then compare to 2012 numbers. It is simple math.
Here is the link if you don't feel like doing math.
"Early-vote requests by Democrats in Cuyahoga County, however, are down 35 per cent compared with the same point in 2012, and ballots returned are off by 31 per cent, according to data from the county board of elections. Republicans are running slightly ahead."

(21,915 posts)Wonder why what is happening in Florida, North Carolina and Georgia is so much different?
LisaL
(44,962 posts)But on a flip side Franklin in OH appears to be doing well.
"Theres just four days left until Election Day. Already, 70,000 Franklin County voters have cast their ballot at the Early Voting Center."

(21,915 posts)from a previous Ohio poll (very recent) that had HRC up 58-32
LisaL
(44,962 posts)And it's way less so far compared to 2012.
"In Cuyahoga County, which includes Cleveland and the states largest concentration of African-Americans, Mr. Obama won 69% of the 2012 vote, a margin of 256,581 votes that was 90,000 more than he won by statewide. But as of Wednesday, 34% fewer Democrats in Cuyahoga County had cast ballots than had done so a week before the 2012 election, according to data from the Cuyahoga County Board of Elections. The overall early-vote turnout in the county is down 18% from 2012."

(21,915 posts)Did early voting start later this year?
LisaL
(44,962 posts)But that didn't seem to affect republican absentee ballot requests (republicans up, democrats down in Cuyahoga compared to 2012 for absentee ballot requested)
Digger
(478 posts)but here in the Summit county suburbs, if yard signs are any indication, we're in a world of hurt.
