Trump just proposed ending all federal clean energy development
Hed end all research on solar, wind, efficiency, batteries, clean cars, and climate science, too.
In the last week, Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump has repeatedly vowed to zero out all federal spending on clean energy research and development. And the plan he released would also zero out all other spending on anything to do with climate change, including the governments entire climate science effort.
You may have missed this bombshell because team Trump did not spell out these cuts overtly. In a campaign where the media has utterly failed to convey the policy stakes in the election, as Voxs Matt Yglesias explained recently, it appears only Bloomberg BNA bothered to follow up with the campaign to get at the truth of Trumps radical proposal.
Polling guru Nate Silver of fivethirtyeight.com fame gives Trump a one in three chance of becoming president. So I agree with Yglesias that we ought to seriously look at the implications of Trumps proposals especially since if Trump wins, hes all but certain to have a GOP-controlled Congress to back him
In announcing his New Deal For Black America on October 26, Trump promised:

I will also cancel all wasteful climate change spending from Obama-Clinton, including all global warming payments to the United Nations. ............

When coal, gas and oil runs out, we can all beg them for their help... That's the way to go for Trumpo.

Here's How A Trump Presidency Would Accelerate The Pace Of Climate Change
President Obama recently told a crowd that the fate of the world is at risk if Donald Trump wins the presidency next week. In many ways, hes right just look at how the two candidates for the Oval Office differ when it comes to tackling climate change.
Clinton has a plan that, although imperfect, will martial the power of the US to cut its carbon footprint. Conversely, Trump will actively pump 3.4 billion tonnes (3.7 billion tons) more carbon dioxide into the sky if he serves two terms, according to an independent analysis by Lux Research.
Thats equivalent to six times the entire carbon footprint of Canada, a huge difference by any standards.
As independent analysts, we dont endorse candidates, but the data and analysis clearly show that energy policy and the resulting emissions will go in very different directions under Clinton and Trump, Yuan-Sheng Yu, a Lux Research analyst, said in a statement.
Climate change hasnt been front-and-center in media coverage of this election but voters should be aware of the implications of their choice on this important issue.
The calculations were based on the two energy policy plans both candidates have put forward this year. ...............

and to climate change was part of his big "policy speech." I was disappointed coverage focused on his anti-Hillary prologue instead of his mostly abhorrent policy plans.
He wants to destroy our education system by pushing, and funding, "choice" incld gov money to religious schools.
He'd eliminate 2 regulations for every one proposed. So goodbye EPA, OSHA...
While pushing that he's intellectually & temperamentally unfit is decent strategy, where's the conversation about how regressive & destructive his policies are (foreign relations problems not withstanding)?
