I couldn't believe it when I heard it initially even though I know wikileaks is a sewer, and their blatant attempt to swing our election by STEALING private emails has revealed that they are an entirely partisan group of Trump whack jobs. But this unbelievable insanity discredits them totally.

I heard this today, and I seriously started laughing out loud. This is the worst, most pathetic dog whistle nonsense -- a sad, last-ditch attempt to motivate lunatic evangelicals who believe that devil worshippers are everywhere (I thought all of that went out in the 80!), the occult/magic/etc is everywhere, and Hillary and the democrats are aligned with the devil. We have known all along that Wikileaks, Assange, and Russian supporters/enablers, were targeting Clinton entirely to support Trump. This ENDS the lie that wikileaks was serving any purpose other propaganda. WikiLeaks didn't “claim” any such thing. WikiLeaks released a bunch of Podesta emails – the accuracy and authenticity of which has not been denied, AFAIK. Then Hannity and Drudge seized on an innocent reference to “spirit cooking” in one email to cook up this whole story about Clinton.

You can't even say, “Well, I just copied the headline from the article.” You didn't. The headline in the linked article states: “Hannity and Drudge Cite WikiLeaks to Claim Clinton Campaign Worships Satan” – which is accurate. You added the falsehood that WikiLeaks had made this absurd claim.

What's even more distressing is that so many people, responding to this thread, gleefully pile on. They join in a false attack on WikiLeaks when the truth is one simple click away.

This episode doesn't "destroy" the credibility of WikiLeaks. In fact, it doesn't even put the smallest scratch on it.

DU supports Clinton. WikiLeaks has disclosed some truths that have hurt Clinton. I get that. But you cannot get from those two premises to the conclusion that any negative statement about WikiLeaks must be true. We can vote for Clinton without suspending all critical judgment.
