I am Seriously Worried We Might Lose Michigan

Back on October 3rd, we were ahead by 10 points but now the lead is cut to just 4 points in the averages. There has been some back and forth in Michigan during the election but we have also head a pretty good lead but now it is cut to its lowest point all year. Something is going very wrong for us in Michigan. Why the sudden drop off in a once solid blue state? Why do the republicans suddenly have so much appeal there? Can this really be happening?

I am seriously worried that Romney might actually take Michigan in a squeaker on election day.

Oh, I'm sorry, I accidently posted old poll averages from RCP from 2012 to make a point. Silly me.

I have been working the GOTV for last 4 weekends
Not sure what kind of secret bullshit is going on in the Trump campaign.
Thing changed here around Tuesday of this week.
First, I started noticing some bumper stickers. (on back windows, for easy removal)
Then I ran into a few areas that were plastered with Trump signs, I mean Plastered.
Some neighborhoods had them around like No Trespassing signs.
My home district isn't bad. But the Harrison Twp area is terrible.
The Lake St. Clair Shore front is really bad. Very high rent district.
Glad we called in the heavy hitters.
GOTV has always been fun for me, this year is different, much different, people are guarded, almost frightened to speak.
This not the America I want.
But I will continue work hard till the last vote is cast.

I think somebody read a stat saying that each sign is worth a certain % of a vote, so the Trumpites think more signs = more votes.

I saw a couple putting down like 100 signs in a row - I laughed - these people are fanatics.

I have seen houses in my area of PA with Trump flags. Yes, huge Trump flags. I think they are trying to reach the very low info voter by msking them think Trump is very popular.

in 2012 it has Obama leading by 4 points and actually gets +9.5. Then 2016 it has Hillary leading by 4 points same as 2012.

in Presidential races:

1996-Clinton
2000-Gore
2004-Kerry
2008-Obama

It has been 28 years (1988) since Michigan has gone GOP. Do we seriously think Trump will be the one to break this string?

Seriously?

I believe Michigan does not have early voting, so the most important thing for Michigan is to GOTV on election day

Regardless, I appreciate your message Jack, it is a point worth putting emphasis on

I've stopped dwelling on the odds at this point. There are so many things that can go wrong, which is why we have to do everything possible to make sure it goes right. Sign up for a shift at your local campaign office if you can.

As I recall many Democrats were worried about Michigan back in 2012 and I think the msm played into that worry with reports on how the race had tightened up in that state which was after all Mitt Romney's home state where his father had been a very popular Governor.

While stabbing at red states that are out of reach, but I think we'll get away with it.

When we made those aggressive moves in Arizona and elsewhere it was as if we assumed normalcy for the remainder. You can't assume normalcy. Once Comey arrived, those aggressive states were gone and suddenly the complacency in states like Michigan, Colorado, New Hampshire and Virginia made this race tighter than warranted.
