is scaring the crap out of them.

They probably thought they had a path by sweeping all the swing states. Something like that:

But they are now seeing bad turnout early voting numbers in Florida, NC, and Nevada. Nevada so much so that it's basically off the table, NC and FL are now leaning toward Hillary, so they are thinking, "we have to hope there is a massive surge in states that are democratic but that don't have a lot of minorities." Which is why they are pushing into Minnesota and Michigan. HRC is actually defending Michigan a bit, Minnesota is even a longer shot. But he is literally going for "surprise attack." Pennsylvania and Wisconsin have had continuous campaigning in them, which actually makes it harder for Trump. So he is hoping there is a hidden vote in a state that has not been inundated with advertising so that he can somehow sneak in there, and smash-and-grab the state(s).

It's a Hail Mary, but he should be trying this. I think the media "horse race" BS is underplaying how narrow his path is, and he should have been doing things like this earlier because the actual map if you cede all these states is horrible for him. His "best case" path that he has been running this entire campaign landed him at 270 exactly.

I understand why he's doing it, but he is going to run head long into an electorate in these states that is predisposed to voting blue.

I heard on npr that he is going to be at the Sun Country hanger at the Minneapolis Airport today. I live in the Twin Cities. Last time he was here, his rally/fundraiser was met with protest.
