Toothpaste tubes are made of plastic. This works.

1 Remove the cap and squeeze the toothpaste out of the tube into a small container. Replace the cap.
2 With scissors cut off the bottom of the tube just above the sealed area.
3 Insert a blunt knife in the cut and spread the tube sides apart to form a void.
4 Scoop the toothpaste back into the tube using the knife and gently pushing it to the tube top.
5 With needle nose pliers pinch the tube bottom cut closed.
6 While holding the tube with the pliers just above the bottom, use a lighter to heat the cut end until it is almost liquid.
Danger! Do not touch the hot plastic or heat it to dripping. Danger!
7 While still hot, use the pliers to press the hot end closed and hold until cool.
If done carefully the toothpaste will be back in the tube and ready for use.
Danger. Not not breathe in the fumes. Well maybe just a little at the end.

Now, it seems like there's some housecleaning in order at the FBI. I sincerely hope our Dem representatives do it.

Full disclosure (don't hate me): Several years ago, after being a registered Dem my whole life (decades) I registered NPA (no party) when I moved to my new state. It pained me to do it, but I felt like Dems hadn't been standing up & fighting for what I believed in. They were letting Rethugs get away with too much crap. Letting Bush & Cheney (& the whole #PNAC cabal) get away with their war crimes? Really? With no challenge/objection at all? While Rethugs continued to do things like investigate Hillary 7-8-9 times for Benghazi?

In the past year+ I've re-registered as a Dem, & I was proud to do so. President Obama is awesome, he has my full support. And that Dem sit-in in Congress, lead by John Lewis ... that brought tears to my eyes & made me proud of the Dem party. That's called standing (or sitting) for what you believe in! That's a party I want to be part of!

(And notice how all the Rethug threats of "retaliation/punishment" against Dems for that sit-in have disappeared? There's a lesson to be learned there.)

I'm looking forward to Dems being more aggressive on this issue, don't just let it slide & "be nice." Rethugs are never nice. They play for blood & even though I don't like it (I wish our politics was far more civilized) that's reality & if we're going to win (or at least hold our own) we have to compete on the playing field as it exists, even it's not the one we'd like to compete on.
