In election's final days, NH ground game could be decisive - The NH Union Leader

The 2016 election in the battleground state of New Hampshire could come down to the performance of voting canvassers like Judi Lanza of Goffstown.

She works 36 hours a week in 12-hour shifts, and still makes time to visit at least 100 homes a week with literature for Democratic presidential nominee Hillary Clinton.

The 55-year-old nurse is herself running for state representative.

“It’s very important,” Lanza said. “Grassroots can definitely make the difference.”

Clinton’s campaign says it has a volunteer base of nearly 13,000 who work in 27 offices across the state.

Secretary of State Bill Gardner predicted some big numbers for New Hampshire — a record turnout of more than 738,000 voters on Tuesday.

“Everyone should feel that their vote will matter because we could have some very close elections here,” Gardner said.

There are about 920,000 registered voters currently on the voter checklist. Gardner said he expects about 90,000 same-day registrants on Tuesday — about the same as in 2012 and 2008. - NH Union Leader

This is to all of you who are or who have volunteered to work for progressive causes this election. Best of luck in reaping the fruits of your labors in the next 48 hours.
