I was with a very prominent Republican when Comey sent his second letter. I was at a kids soccer game. I wasn't conspiring.

Let's just say he deflated and said "well, that's that."

Can't be good for GOTV for Rs.

But no way would I count on that. Forget the Trump voters and concentrate on turning out Dems.

I figure that even if they don't want to vote for a loser, they want to vote the down ballot as a check against Dems. But there are some, who will just give up. Those few still on the fence might even vote for HRC to vote for a winner. It's not like Trumpsters are rational human beings, ya know!

...the polls reported by the media are rigged, where they mostly associate with other Trump supporters and mistake their circle of friends and family for the mood of the whole country, etc.

I'm pretty sure most will be out voting for their Orange Hitler, then claiming the election was "stolen" from them when they lose.

Republicans do not do this. That's why they have so many state Houses, and Congress. They even vote in midterms, even if they think their people not conservative enough. They are rabid and don't have to be energized or inspired.

votcastr/slate will be dumping exit poll data for swing state races nearly real time tomorrow.

So if it becomes obvious (as expected) FL and NC go blue during the day, and that MN, MI, PA are not going red, the election will be over. It will be obvious.

What possible benefit do the republic's have to turn out anywhere else? Dems will still come out. They are excited, and will be doubly excited if we are winning.

Republics, not so much. BArs will be open. So will liquor stores and their local meth lab.

are rabid Trump supporters. Not by a long shot. Many Republicans dislike Donald Trump and will find it difficult to vote for him. Some of those will simply not bother to vote. Others will skip the presidential race. Still others will vote for Hillary and for Republicans down the ballot.

How that will break out is not known, though, and will not be known until days after the election.

Republicans are part of a larger political spectrum. Trump is on one end of that, but his popularity does not extend to all Republican voters. I think that will be one of the big takeaways from this election, in the end.

A lot of the "Reagan Republicans" have had enough of the deplorable wingnuttery.
A lot of women who just cannot stomach Trump and/or Pence are Republicans.
A lot of Republicans will be voting for Democrats because of Republican extremism.

Another good question, "How many Catholics are voting Kaine over Pence?"

Another good question, "How many minority voters aren't staying home this time?"
