Electioneering in Minnesota

In this state, there's a 100' distance from the polling place for any electioneering activity. However, there's a catch. If the polling place is on public property, no electioneering at all is allowed.

The majority of polling places in St. Paul are at schools and community centers - all public property. So, we don't have candidate's signs or anyone handing out literature at my polling place, which is at a school.

That's really nice. Voters don't have to run a gauntlet of electioneers.

Our location was (yea, I voted early ) at a fire station. When my husband voted in the last election, there was a man in line with a Romney/Ryan shirt. The election staffers told him he would not be allowed to proceed until he covered up his shirt or flipped it inside-out.
