Lawyers are saying the racketeering charges make Trump guilty an impeachable offense.

Several legal websites have said that the racketeering charges against Trump for his Trump U scam would make him liable for impeachment. But, even though I knew they would wait until after the election I have not heard of any trial being set up yet, nor anymore information about it.

These are separate charges from the ones that the people who were scammed. At least that is what it sounds like to me. Or it seems like in the case of Bernie Maddof, he should be criminally liable for a racketeering charge.

Here is a website talking about the impeachment.

Federal District Court Judge Gonzalo Curiel has ruled that Donald J. Trump, founder of Trump University, must face civil trial for fraud and racketeering under the federal Racketeer Influenced and Corrupt Organizations Act (“RICO”). Trump had moved for summary judgment in a last-ditch effort to block a class-action trial scheduled to begin right after the national election.

----------------------------------

Judge Curiel is presiding over two separate class-action lawsuits. In both cases, the court has certified the suit as a class action and has denied motions to dismiss. The first, Low v. Trump University, sues the institution — Trump University — as well as Trump personally — on many different theories of recovery, including misrepresentation, breach of contract, and taking advantage of seniors. The second, Cohen v. Trump, is a far more surgical in its approach — it sues Trump individually for fraud and racketeering under the federal RICO statute, and relies no other theory of recovery.

-----------------------------------

Them’s the facts. Here’s my take. It is the Cohen suit that has caused Trump to flip his not inconsiderable wig . Trump probably cares more about the Cohen suit more than he cares about the election because it has the potential of wiping him out, at least of his cash. If, for example, all of the members of the Cohen class paid $50 million in tuition (I am making up that number by way of illustration), then Trump potentially has to fork over $150 million plus pre-judgment interest. A Trump loss — racketeering and fraud — would also be devastating to the Trump brand. This is going to be a major distraction for him in the campaign’s final months, and may already be a reason he is acting out.

According to Peterson, enough evidence of Trump’s serious misconduct exists for Congress to impeach Trump without delay.

Trump has previously engaged in fraud and racketeering, Peterson says, and these crimes meet the standard of “high crimes and misdemeanors” imposed under Article II of the United States Constitution.

The professor lays out his case in a scholarly article entitled “Trump University and Presidential Impeachment.”

The 23-page paper — published on Tuesday — focuses on Trump’s leadership of the now-defunct Trump University. Before going under, the unaccredited, for-profit real estate investment training program charged participants up to $30,000 each in fees.

...and then we would have President Pence?
I don't think the republics would go for that much destruction to their party, seeing as their wet dream has come true, but
who knows? It could be their one shot to rid themselves of the Bloviator and come out of it clean with someone who
they can relate to.

Anyone paying attention before the election heard the words of Ryan et al: "I am going to vote for the top of my party's ticket."

Trump's name was never mentioned.

A republican acquaintance of mine told me, "I don't like Trump, but I very much like the other guy on the ticket."
