And in a confusing turn of events, Debbie Wasserman Schultz

won her reelection bid by 16 percentage points. My democratic congresswoman won, too, with over 60% of the vote. Not all Democrats lost their elections. Just not enough of them won to regain control of the Senate.

All is not lost. We've just made a right turn when going left was the right choice. Maybe the GPS mapping was wrong. Maybe Google Maps showed the wrong direction on people's print-out. I don't know.

But, he never had a chance in that district. He was just a distraction that diverted people's attention. We had lots of distractions in the 2016 campaign and election period. In some cases, they prevented good people from getting elected. Sad.

I was not aware of that. I don't follow out-of-state congressional races closely.

Not a big fan of Crist but he will vote with us just about every time and he is worlds better than Jolly.

Once a Republican, but now eyes-open to the insanity of that party.

I voted red once. Never again and will continue to vote blue/dem.

At the legislative district level, national trends don't always predict outcomes, at both the state and federal level.

The presidential race is a different sort of thing, as we have just seen.

Frankly, I don't know the answer to that question. She is not a Republican. That works for me this year.

of Congress from a district in Florida. I know that she was the DNC Chair until recently. I know that most Bernie supporters during the primaries didn't like her. I know she just got reelected. I do not know her positions on every issue, though. I see that someone who does just answered your question.

We need Democrats in the House, so I'm glad she won.

U.S. Rep. Debbie Wasserman Schultz of Weston, who has taken heat for her opposition to medical marijuana, quietly took a vote in favor of it last week.

In 2014, she opposed Florida’s constitutional amendment to allow medical marijuana — a rare position for a South Florida Democrat — that led to a spat between her and wealthy trial lawyer John Morgan, who bankrolled the amendment. A similar measure will appear on the ballot in November.

In the past, as a Democrat in a safe liberal district, Wasserman Schultz faced no political repercussions at the ballot box for taking a position out of step with her constituents. But criticism about her stances carry more weight this year because she faces a well-funded Democratic challenger: Tim Canova, who supports medical marijuana.

Helped a few friends fill out their sample ballots and I was so happy to select Debbie. We love Debbie here in S. FL! I wish I could've voted for her but I moved out of her district. My congressman Ted Deutch was also reelected.
