One year from today President Obama will be sworn in for his second term

(Actually it was pointed out below that because Jan 20 is a Sunday the actual public inaugural will be on Monday, the 21st, however, when this has happened in the past (Sunday) a private ceremony is often held on Sunday since by law the presidential term ends on January 20th at noon).

Let's get to work! We can't just sit back and let the GOP "candidates" destroy themselves and each other. We need to give them a hand.

January 20, 2013 is on a Sunday.
If January 20 is on a Sunday, they do the inauguration the next day, on January 21.
Post this again tomorrow please...

with the actual public inaugural will be on Monday, the 21st, because, when this has happened in the past (Sunday) a private ceremony is often held on Sunday since by law the presidential term ends on January 20th at noon).

Reagan was sworn in as president for the second time on January 20, 1985, in a private ceremony at the White House. Because January 20 fell on a Sunday,

So no need to delete the post since he will be sworn in for a second term on January 20th.

...that we lose sight of that. The Senate is in some danger of going Republican, what with so many Dem senators either retiring or facing tough re-election contests.

Our salvation may be that this traveling freak show called the Republican primaries might turn the voters off so badly that the effects are felt all the way down the ticket.

but I'm not as confident. This day and time, with all the front groups like Koch's pouring unlimited money into the campaign, anything is possible. It's no slam dunk and there hasn't been one lately. It seems like an almost 50/50 divide among the voters in presidential elections. The swing voters in the middle usually make the difference now and it's pretty divided too.

Makes better sense to stay vigilant than assume anything in today's politics and economy. Don't you think?

However, the institutionalized voter suppression already in progress makes me worry. I dread a redux of 2000 and a Brooks Brothers type riot (pic below). It was so sweet in 2008 when at 11:00 PM PST a second after the polls closed here on the west coast it was announced that Pres O had won. I'd like a redux of that please.
