They want to be the only ones spending our money and they only want it spent on military and wars.

GOP economics means leaving nothing behind but the debt. Spending on infrastructure might leave an asset for the people to benefit from. Can't have that.

It was the huge tax reductions to the upper-incomers that blew a hole in our budget. That, along with the Wall Street induced great recession.

Those rebates were only a small part of the total tax cuts. Why complain about the scraps we got when the rich got ten times as much?

anyone who looks at recent history can clearly see that democrats have been much better stewards of the economy than republicans. they have millions of people hypnotized or something.

The exact same thing happened when Reagan was elected. He promised to cut taxes, increase defense spending, and balance the budget. He tripped our deficit.
He lied his way into office and did not stand by any of his promises. Fascist Trump has used the same con only much bigger and bolder. His lies are stunning.

The problem is we Democrats did not hold Reagan accountable for his lies. WHAT will we do this time????

The only way they can achieve their long term goals to "starve the beast" and shrink government to a size that can be "drowned in a bathtub" is to starve the government of funds and convince voters these programs are unaffordable and "hard choices" have to be made.

This is the only way they can ultimately destroy Medicare and Social Security -- with huge budget deficits.

Republicans have been the ones who have ballooned the budget but when the Dems are in they cry about deficits and big spending liberals. It works because too many people watch Fox News.....where spending for empire and war is always OK.

And the classroom economists like the Paranoid Randroid will say that high Republican deficits are GOOD, because they weaken the dollar, and that makes American exports more attractive.
