Putin knew Trump could not lead. So he fed Trump's ego. Putin would only have to release the information on how Putin corrupted Trump and the US would be in total confusion. The CIA has to get some answers quickly.

Trump and his cohorts need to be put under oath and asked exactly what they know and what exactly they have been up to.

If they are caught lying they should be punished to the full extent of the law. This espionage problem cannot and must not be brushed under the rug. There is too much at stake.
