I always imagined that America had the best hackers in the world.

Russia is nowhere as good at this as we have been since the Cold War. We gave Sadat Hussein the names of liberals in Iraq so he could kill them when he was in the Iraq military. Let's think about this for a second.


What real critical infrastructure and systems do Russians have that are connected and non-proprietary?

Compound that with the NSA/FBI directives that put backdoor access points into almost all operating systems. Anything that is Windows, Azure, SUSE, based, are deeply exposed for entry. Add in that almost all motherboards and routers (from home to Cisco, etc.) have firmware in them to let the FBI "hack" into your home network and machines in a matter of seconds.


Ever wonder why foreign state actors can infiltrate our systems so easily--because the US quietly mandated it.

Ever wonder why there are so many viruses out there that exploit Windows? Besides the new Windows sharing core code with WIN 7 and before (yes, according to Computerworld Security, Windows is using old and stale code in their new OS. They also have a voice recognition system that, when systems are in sleep mode, still monitor discussions in the room. But I digress. They have undocumented gate calls in addition to the NSA hooks.


Now every hacker, with a disassembler or access to the dark web documents on hacking, and every foreign government can go wherever they want in US cyberspace.


We would be the ones who come up on the losing side of a cyberwar.

Corporate systems, would experience intrusions.

Mainframes are a different class of machinery and operating system, especially if it is z/OS based.

However, many of the larger footprints, that some will call mainframes are actually Linux CECs using a SUSE or other kernal that is prone to intrusion. Windows servers are a little different, but many of their inherit exposures still exist.


The voice thing is just another security exposure that WIN10 personal and small business users have to deal with.
