I have reflected upon what we did not do in 2000. Will this be repeated in 2016?

From the research of Greg Palast and others, we know the sort of abusive strategies we were met with. So many voters were not permitted to, were intimidated, or whose ballots were simply dumped. Where have I heard of that more recently?

THE NYT published a year later.

But the consortium, looking at a broader group of rejected ballots than those covered in the court decisions, 175,010 in all, found that Mr. Gore might have won if the courts had ordered a full statewide recount of all the rejected ballots. This also assumes that county canvassing boards would have reached the same conclusions about the disputed ballots that the consortium's independent observers did. The findings indicate that Mr. Gore might have eked out a victory if he had pursued in court a course like the one he publicly advocated when he called on the state to ''count all the votes.''

So let's say not so many people were screwed with, more got to vote, and let's say it was not so hard to get shit recounted? Again, what did we see in Jill's effort? An absolute bitch to get the recount done. We still have these damned paperless machine that cannot be recounted, and the software in NONE of the machines can be audited by the public. They put up SUCH a stink over the recounts - how hard is to imaging that there was something they seriously had to hide? They turned counties and states that could not be contemplated.

The media were in a state of shock that night. I know this has all been hashed out but among all of the strategies that we know get played out, I struggle with so many polls ALL being wrong at the same time.

I watched for months as Trump "projected" what I firmly believe that he WAS doing (cheating) and accused that of our side. "Concede if he loses? Not a fucking chance. I've already got it in the bag, and if I lose, something went very wrong - and HRC stole it from me." is all I could hear out of that ass.

Then there is Russia, and Comey, and years of pursuing fucked up allegations about Bengazi and e-mails. And they even admit it was all made up shit to tear her down. And it helped. Any R that I speak to in my community, or clients, they all have the same talking points because it was drilled into their heads for years on end. There was ever an end to it.

But in 2000, even though it was bad, the 18 months prior were not dreadful like this. Next 8 year were a bitch, but not much happened, and Bush stole 2 elections. And at least our next 4 are going to brutal if this bully gets seated.

So here we are today. Our world is in peril. We can all pray that the Electors actually stop this, but while I have massive hopes, I balance them against regrettably limited expectations. They stop this, or some sort of peaceful/popular uprising stops it (in my dreams), but I would dearly pray that this gets stopped. I just don't know what to do.

The electors need to hear noise. Are there demonstrations this weekend? Anyone organizing anything in Sacramento, CA?

I am feeling a loss of hope for the future of our planet, much less US democracy. Goodbye Court. Goodbye any prayer of reversing Citizens United. We all know what is on their wish list at the Court. Goodbye facts and science.

Nice place we leave for the kids.
