Dear World, please don't blame most of us for President-elect Trump

The majority of U.S. citizens did NOT vote for Donald Trump; they voted for Hillary Clinton. However, thanks to our antiquated Electoral College voting system, which favors Republicans and their ilk, we are stuck with the world class asshole, moron, con-artist, and liar, Donald J Trump, as the President-elect.

Two fine Democratic candidates in the last 16 years have been denied the presidency despite winning the popular vote: In 2000, instead of Al Gore we got George W Bush who, along with his pal Dick Cheney, changed the entire global situation for the worse. Now in 2016, instead of getting a very capable Hillary Clinton, we get Donald Trump, a disgusting sociopath and bully. Figure that.

If it wasn't for the Electoral College system, we could very well have been celebrating the beginning of the upcoming 25th straight year.....and the beginning of the 7th straight term.....of Democratic presidents in this country. Just think how much more peaceful and prosperous the global situation would have been for everyone.

Your points are all good, but they don't change the fact that nearly half of the voting public are Nazis.

Yes, when you're willing to vote for a fascist -- for any reason -- then you are one yourself.

Hitler would have no problem rising to power in today's America.

We have tolerated evil in our midst and now we're paying the price.

I personally know more than a few voters who voted for Trump, and I wouldn't classify them as Nazis, as you just did. I would classify them as either ignorant, greedy, or hateful of Hillary, but I certainly wouldn't classify them as Nazis. Yes, there are some voters in this country who you could describe as such, but your claim that almost half of the voting public are Nazis is absurd.

I stand by mine.

If you're willing to put a Nazi in office -- ignoring the lessons of WWII -- then you're a Nazi.

I've seen film of Adolf hanging out at home with friends and dog. He looks personable in that footage.

Doesn't change what he really was or what his actions wrought.

I realize that not everyone who voted for Trump has shaved their head, gotten swastika tattoos, hung out at Stormfront, etc.

Many may be affable types who are fine to have beer with.

But, the world (to whom you were writing) isn't going to meet these individuals anyway.

The only thing that matters to anyone looking at the US from somewhere else is whether we're going to harm them or not.

Every Trump voter has set everyone in the world (including us here in the US) at much greater risk of harm, deprivation, and suffering in general.

Every one of them has increased the likelihood that fascists will rule the globe.

That is really the only thing that matters to the rest of the world.
