House Republican says misspoke on Pentagon budget
WASHINGTON | Sun Apr 1, 2012 12:28pm EDT
(Reuters) - The senior U.S. House Republican on budget matters said on Sunday he "misspoke" when he caused a stir last week by saying the Pentagon budget for next year was dishonest and the generals were not giving Congress their true advice.
"I really misspoke, to be candid with you ...," congressman Paul Ryan, chairman of the House of Representatives Budget Committee, told CNN's "State of the Union" program.
"I didn't mean to make that kind of impression," Ryan said, adding that he had apologized to General Martin Dempsey, chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff.
Ryan made his controversial comment in a forum last Thursday, saying: "We don't think the generals are giving us their true advice. We don't think the generals believe that their budget is the right budget."

"listen to the generals" who want to keep these senseless wars going but they shouldn't be listend to when they tell Congress they don't need m0re money. Obama is the CIC anad the generals need to listen to him. He's the boss, not just on whether or not we continue with stupid wars but also on how much their budget should be.

they got several transport planes that they were too stupid to know they needed.
