Drunken Irishman posted "Obama stands between us an complete insanity". I agree. Ryan's economic prescriptions are insane. From the day Romney embraced Ryan's 'marvelous' future, Mitt and Ryan are BFF. At every campaign stop Ryan proudly escorts around his New Hope.
This is not conjecture. I am not exaggerating. These are facts ... (over tome) the federal budget would basically amount to whatever is left in entitlements, defense spending, and interest on the national debt. Period." Obama.
Over time, every safety net, every ladder up would be gutted.
If the Democrats stop this in the Senate, the Federal Government would face a shut down. This is not a fight you can win with a newly elected President. The chips are gone.
Yes Mitt will go with the tide. There is not one ounce of doubt.
Them's the stakes. Whatever ideology you may find comfortable, if this isn't a line in the sand, nothing is.

(23,374 posts)because our side will have to compromise. I feel that the crazier they are the more they get.
I will be voting. It's just that it's so disappointing.

(21,946 posts)one or two of the more liberal members stepping down in the next four years. That alone is enough to get me to the ballot box in November to vote for Obama.

(15,226 posts)Vietnam nonsense made me skeptical especially the movie of Ho Chi Min waving American flags following World War II. The Republican Party nonsense just makes me angry, domestic enemies are far more dangerous than foreign enemies with nuclear weapons.

(16,646 posts)Not to mention a House. Remember, "the president doesn't have a magic wand". It's congress that makes all of this happen. Clinton signed DOMA and DADT, not to mention NAFTA and the Welfare Reform Act, as well as the repeal of Glass-Stegal.
A democratic congress is really what will stand in the way. Even with one we got mandates and no public option. Even with one, Gitmo is till open and running on a principal of indefinite detentions. Even with one the Bush tax cuts are still in place, 4 years later. Keeping Obama in there makes it harder. Keeping a GOP house makes it more likely.

(16,646 posts)He can't stop it all, which is why the tax cuts for the rich are still there, but stopping Ryan's crap is a whole lot easier if he is in the minority party in congress.
Thanks.

You sound like the Home Depot CEO that said people who don't vote for pukes "should be shot".
