Cartoon from 1832 had Pres. Jackson "trampling the Constitution", just like McNaughton's Obama pic

Okay, when I saw Andrew McNaughten's "masterpiece", "The Forgotten Man", which depicts Obama stomping on the Constituion, I thought our political discourse had hit a new low:

Turns out it's nothing new. There was a political cartoon in 1832 depicting Andrew Jackson doing the same thing.

Found this instance, and many other historical parallels while reading Arhtur Goldwag's book, "The New Hate: A History of Fear and Loathing on the Populist Right"

obviously a Mexican has "stolen" his job, or else his "job creator" was taxed into laying him off so new Cadillacs could be given to the black Welfare Queens.

He applied his "Pull yourself up by your bootstraps" and "Vote with your feet" rhetoric to both minorities in slums and unemployed whites in depressed areas like Allentown, PA and Youngstown, OH.

who will vote for Republican candidates based on one or two wedge or "patriotic" issues, despite the damage to their own economic interests. Some of those guys liked Reagan because he "talked tough" and got Iran to release the Embassy hostages on the day of his inauguration, even though it came out later that a secret deal had been arranged between the Reagan camp and Iran even before the election.

Dubya is firmly in the "trampling on the Constitution" side, and is looking at the downtrodden guy with a "Sucks to be you!" smirk on his face
