Bernie Sanders Finds Eloquent Inspiration In Obamas Second Inaugural Address
By: Jason Easley
Sen. Bernie Sanders praised President Obamas second inaugural address as, eloquent in its simplicity and inspiring in its basic theme that were all in this together.
In a statement, Sen. Sanders said,
President Obamas second inaugural address was eloquent in its simplicity and inspiring in its basic theme that were all in this together. (4 posts)Honestly, I think he bothers to make appeals towards the center out of pure calculation rather than it being part of his core ideology. Granted, he's to the right of the Chomskys and Oliver Stones of the world, but I'd brand him a typical lib dem more than the Blue Dog dem some of his base thinks he is.
His goal seems to be to sow the seeds of the political narrative gradually so it skews more and more leftward while maintaining as much independent support as he can (and following his final campaign, he'll probably take more chances). All smart presidents, both right and left, have to walk a tightrope when it comes to selling their ideas (Bush showed what happens when you jump off the rope), and I think Obama in his first term realized it wouldn't be wise to charge in guns blazing with Brian Griffin-esque policies.

(5 posts)...2nd term Obama is more liberal than the first since he doesn't have to worry about a second election.
