Sarah Palin: Roe v. Wade Anniversary Highlights Obama 'Hypocrisy'

As pro-choice advocates and abortion foes alike marked the anniversary of the Supreme Court's Roe v. Wade ruling, Sarah Palin criticized President Obama for advocating gun control as a way to protect children while simultaneously supporting abortion rights.

In a post on her Facebook page, the former Alaska governor and one-time Republican vice presidential candidate charged Obama with "hypocrisy" for "boldly highlighting children" in anti-gun violence speeches while supporting an "abortion agenda."

"Using kids as the backdrop for his gun control speech, the President claimed his commitment to young ones," Palin wrote. "The hypocrisy of it all, however, is that while the President publicly acknowledges the value of “even one life” when it advances his own political agenda, he fails to acknowledge as much when it comes to protecting the lives of children soon to be born."

Palin continues: "See, his commitment to our children is selective. When children in the womb are on the chopping block, the President is silent. When he places the Second Amendment, however, on the chopping block, children are his focus. Never mind the fact that his latest proposals would not protect them from evildoers and would, in fact, leave responsible, law-abiding citizens less able to protect them as well ... Clearly, there is no shortage of hypocrisy coming out of Washington, and this is just one example."

I can tell you with some certainty exactly what it would be like: She would be as normal a teenager as you could be living with a psychotic mother like the one she's been saddled with. She wouldn't have gotten Dancing with the Stars. She wouldn't have been a Candie's spokesperson. Because in case the teabaggers have not noticed, Bristol Palin is a very average-looking woman.

Obama's views on abortion (safe, legal and rare) do not conflict with his views on gun control because Obama doesn't subscribe to the fundamentalist position that every abortion is murder. Since Obama doesn't support their views on abortion, there's no hypocrisy in wanting to protect children from gun violence.

Know what really is inconsistent? Claiming to follow the Sixth Commandment* to the point that they murder people and bomb medical facilities. That's really inconsistent. Claiming to be "pro-life" while supporting gun legislation that allows an unimaginable slaughter to play out in the streets of America each and every day. That's pretty inconsistent, too. Then there's whole claiming to worship a God who fed the poor and healed the sick, while simultaneously demanding that their own government stop doing the very same thing. That's inconsistent beyond belief.

*"Thou shalt not kill" -- for the benefit of those readers who have gone a while between Sunday School lessons. And I believe that would be the Seventh Commandment for yo Catholics playing along at home.

I also remember when she couldn't put a single sentence together, but look at her now! Whole sentences and even a thought put in there!

We sure missed a great opportunity to have her as VP!!
