New - Romney on FoxNews re tax returns: "I Don’t Want To Give The Democrats A Nice Little Present.."

Romney: I Won’t Release My Tax Returns Because ‘I Don’t Want To Give The Democrats A Nice Little Present’
GOP presidential candidate Mitt Romney endured a hail of boos during the CNN debate last night when he refused to commit to releasing his 2011 tax returns. This morning on Fox and Friends, host Gretchen Carlson asked Romney whether he’d be willing to “make news” and agree to release his returns before April. An obstinate Romney repeated that he will only release his returns once on April 15. “The reason is very simple,” he said. “I want to beat Barack Obama. I don’t want to give the Democrats a nice little present of having multiple releases.”

p.s. I am surprised that Mitt's campaign hasn't taken his shovel away because he is digging his hole deeper! LOL

Mitt has been playing a game in which he navigates the soft areas ... out lasts his GOP rivals, and then goes against Obama ... if he gets to that point, he won't release much, and he'll try to get independent voters to agree that it is a non issue.

Mitt is trying to cross a mine field. He'll throw grenades at Obama, and then hunker down.

I don;t think he can win this way ... but he could just become the GOP nominee ... aka .. the next Bob Dole.

Is he so stupid that he does not realize that admitting he is hiding something is not going to help him?

You know, at first I thought this was just a blip, but the way Mitt has responded there is obviously some really shameful things in these documents. His Republican opponents are going to beat him over the head with it until he releases something. We're all expecting some pretty shady stuff, Camen Island accounts, corporate government handouts, legal tax evasion on $tens of millions, etc etc. You know the usual stuff for the top 1/1000th of 1% that Mitt is. But, what could be the big deal? Obviously there are things in there that they either need time to clean up and falsify or they don't think they win the Republican Primary.

Furthermore, why run for President if you have a financial history that if exposed will ruin your chances? The GOP better defeat him now or they are toast when Obama get's to take his shots at the Mitt's returns. I think he'll release it piece meal and it will be a huge campaign issue should he win the Republican nomination. "Did he release enough?" will be the question you hear all the time.

FOX and the talking heads will be arguing that Romney has provided enough, the rest of the thinking universe will know he's holding back the most shameful records. We will never see all of his returns and Obama will beat him over the head with that fact throughout the campaign.
