I was watching this clip and realized a simple point.

The rifle is a Sharps carbine. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sharps_rifle

The rate of fire is 8 to 10 rounds a minute.

Why didn't Heston hike up an assault style weapon instead of a rifle that nobody has a problem with?

I also want the NRA to change the rifles on their patch to more truthfully state their mission. Crossed hunting rifles are not what they stand for.

Perhaps an AK crossed with an Uzi.
