CLEAN SWEEP in 2012

Last edited Mon Apr 9, 2012, 05:53 PM - Edit history (1)

I am not one to put the cart before the horse and normally I do not demand that change happen overnight but I have read enough incendiary rhetoric from the RW this cycle. Both the veiled and overt feelings about our President and our politics in general have become toothy and salacious. If the main focus of GOP voters is removing Pres. Obama from office then our focus must be motivating what I believe to be the majority of Americans.
The majority of Americans believe in a woman's right to choose, the right of two consenting adults to marry, every citizen's right to serve their country without shame, the right to plan parenthood and that Life, Liberty and the Pursuit of Happiness is less a bumper sticker slogan and more a primary role of government in our lives.
Fiscal conservatives are not evil.
People who think government should be smaller aren't evil either. Think of how much smaller our government could be if we didn't have to maintain the thousand foreign military installations we have built up over the last sixty years.
There is room for debate between the Left and the Right. That balance is what made this country mighty. It wasn't the bomb. That is what planted the seeds of fear and resentment around the world.
If you know someone who has given up, if you know someone who has never registered, if you know someone who needs a ride or just a hand getting on their feet PLEASE take the opportunity to help us keep the White House and to take EVERY available seat in Congress. Don't forget those state and local contests either. Vote your conscience. Vote your interests. But whatever you do...VOTE this year.

Pres. Obama won in 08 using five dollars at a time. Get out a ten this year if your payroll tax didn't increase. Get out a twenty if you found a job after being out of work for more than six months.

...and I would not dream of making assumptions or going about cocksure.
I am proud of this country for electing this articulate, compassionate and brave man to lead us. I am confident in his ability and his philosophy.
I just know that it is going to take the same kind of effort that it took in 2008. It's not as if McCain/Palin were setting the world on fire then either. These candidates are laughable but remember...they are NOT Obama. That continually registers as the most important quality with likely GOP voters.
