Fracking Ban Final in Fort Collins

The Fort Collins City Council, on a second reading Tuesday night, voted to uphold the fracking ban within city limits by a vote of 5-2. The ban is now final.
This vote defies the governor and other state authorities who say local governments have no right to regulate the oil and gas industry. The state and Colorado Oil and Gas Association threatened lawsuits if Fort Collins’ ban on fracking became final.
“The Fort Collins City Council stood up to the bullies—Governor Hickenlooper and the Big Oil and gas industry—to protect citizens and their health and property by banning fracking in the city,” said Gary Wockner of Clean Water Action, a national environmental organization in Fort Collins that has 2,000 members.

Now, listen, and then tender your resignation effective immediately.

You are no Democrat. You're a DINO kissing up to oil & gas industry that will soon be extinct.

probably sue the city. He, meaning the state. That was either Wednesday or last night. Can't remember which. It's very disappointing. We seem to have so many rather conservative Democrats here. But it used to be that everyone was on the correct side of environmental issues, even if they were centrist otherwise. This shift is troubling to me.

so he can be taught that pro-frackers are not wanted in the state, and Ft. Collins and Longmont are correct on protecting their waters.

It's time for him to start putting the fracked water in his beer. And ask how his customers like it.

You bet they're right to be against it, not to mention that they have the right to protect their own citizens anyway. The citizens voted. They don't want to drink that stuff.
