Dinner with President Obama (in support of DSCC) was only $15,000, and I can sit down privately with most US Senators for an expectation of about $1-$2,000.

Of course, maybe the Republicans charge more.....

This is the sad reality. In order to run most candidates need money, though it appears that this is getting to be the less and less true for many members of Congress.
