the GOP. None of these 'scandals' can righteously be laid at the hands of the White House, but that hasn't stopped the GOP from trying. The Bush Administration never apologized for one thing during their administration; not Katrina, not the failures to heed the warnings leading up to Sept 11, not the failure to find WMD in Iraq, not the torture, not the squandering of the nations' treasures on the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan, not the outing of a CIA agent who dared to question them, not the politicization of the US Attorney's Office in search of non-existent voter fraud, etc, etc.

The Bush Administration defended every move they made, and never once apologized, no matter how misguided their policies. Mr. President, being a good-natured centrist has gotten you nowhere, with the party of Mitch McConnell and Darrell Issa who have been determine to see you fail since the day you were sworn in. Mr. President, this is no time for throwing more members of your administration under the bus to pacify the GOP. It's always been your head that they wanted on a platter. It won't be enough to have Eric Holder's head or the acting Commissioner of the IRS's head. The 'liberal' press has been on sabbatical since you took office, thus we have never been able to count on them to bring any objectivity or sense of perspective to any of these manufactured crisis.

If you are to salvage your presidency, the time is now and it has to begin with you going on the offense, and showing that you're mad as hell and you're not going to take it any longer, while making sure that your wrath is targeted at the right people, not government employees doing a difficult job without a public airing of the facts. Benghazi has been a farce from the beginning, just as the 'Fast and Furious' hearings, and the soon to be IRS 'investigations'. It's time to unleash the 'angry black man' that has been buried deep inside of you on your political enemies who have sought to destroy you since day one. If you don't have the courage, than you possibly should consider stepping aside because three and a half more years of this bullshit will be too painful for even your most arduous supporters to endure. If you don't have the courage, pass the torch now, so that Hillary who has shown that she does have what it takes to go up against this machine will have a fighting chance in 2016.

President probably won't be able to address them due to the ongoing investigations.

What he can discuss is the ongoing politicization of the response to Benghazi which an independent review found no wrongdoing on the part of the Obama Administration or Hillary Clinton. Despite the fact that Benghazi was a CIA led operation, John McCain and Lyndsey Graham have never even hinted at any impropriety on behalf of their beloved Gen. Patraeus, the CIA director at the time and who was questioned one time behind closed doors for about two hours, and allowed to go on his merry way. This Monday morning quarterbacking, or what coulda, woulda, shoulda, serves the GOP and their base game plan to ensure that this remains on the Front Page in spite of no evidence that there is or ever has been any there, there.

10. As someone who is totally anti-gun, I find Obama's concern for gun victims

hard to reconcile with his utter lack of concern for the vulnerable people and programs like Head Start/Early Head Start and Meals on Wheels who would be devastated by the sequester, as well as Obama's own proposals to cut Social Security by instituting Chained CPI.

It makes his concern for victims of gun crimes, no matter how extremely worthy it is, ring a bit hollow to me, to be honest.

11. Don't quite agree that it rings hollow but.....

It is jarring that he can show empathy for gun victims whilst being so callous towards those affected by the sequester and the SS cuts. I honestly get the sense that Obama isn't an utter sociopath like some may claim, he's just one of those guys who doesn't or can't show compassion when people are viewed as an abstract statistic. Example, let's say "4 million people will suffer from SS cuts". To the president, those 4 million people are an abstract number that he doesn't really need to confront. He won't necessarily have to deal with them personally. In contrast, the victims (or loved ones of the victims) of gun violence are people that he HAS to deal with on the personal level, making it harder to turn his compassion off in that regard.

Despite the various differences I have with the man, I got the sense that the president really did care about those people affected by gun violence because he, by choice or by obligation, connected with them on a more personal level.. In fact, I'd say that this president is quite good at that when he wants to be. Now if only he could abandon his noble, yet incredibly stubborn and fruitless pursuit of bipartisanship, and extend some of that empathy to those people who are viewed as a "statistic".........

16. I know where my loyalties lie as far as this president goes and what members of my family

including my husband did to help him get elected, so I don't care if people here want to question my loyalty. However, my job does not allow me to participate in political activity. However, I believe that his supporters have a right to expect him to fight fire with fire instead of rolling over and playing dead 5 months into a new administration. He knows that these people don't like like him and never will. I these people don't have to respect him as President, than that means they don't have to respect my black children who didn't go to Harvard, and who aren't the President of the United States, so that makes it personal for me.

Also, this is bullshit that in our so called democracy, the people who LOST are calling all the shots and it pisses me off to no end. Politics is not for the faint at heart and I expect someone from Chicago to realize that at some point. Even prior to this last manufactured crisis, the lame stream media was beginning to look ahead to 2016. 2016 is too far away and this nation has too many problems that need addressing to be caught up in a lame duck presidency, 5 months into a second term. Yes I'm mad as hell, and don't care who doesn't like it. This is bullshit and it's time the President called a spade, a spade.
