I grade the push back efforts of the Obama’s Administration on Republican Insanity...

a D...A lot of intellectual banter it seems to me, which our low info voters have little interest in
deciphering. Carney seems always bumbling around with his responses, Holder is no better..
Carney definitely needs to go.

We need someone who can go on the attack every day to point out clearly the lies, hypocrisy,
and desperation of these Republican frauds...

The President now he fully understands republicans are trying to distract him. And those republican distractions hurt ALL Americans and America.

The President should ignore the republican attacks and stick to the issues of his job. A job he does very well considering how SELFISH,republicans squander billions just to attack our President.

To ignore threats of impeachment does little good..I do not feel good about the 2014 mid-terms and covering up does not help. Especially when there is absolutely little movement in positive employment
numbers..All because of republican insanity....I want an FDR, LBJ attack.

4. I don't want a President that talks down to people- or spoon feeds us to satisfy "low-info" voters

I want a President whom talks to us and treats the rest of us like adults. Yeah, it may not be as exciting and fun as being able to tear a political opponent down limb by limb but that's not President Obama's style. You know this, right? He wasn't even like that when running for office in 2008 either nor when he was first introduced in 2004 (remember his keynote address and the themes therein)

is doing a fair job given the fact that it is no match for the corporate owned media. Give Obama a break, will ya?

Every day they should use the words"liar", "hate-monger", and so on. Call out the right wing propaganda machine, in no uncertain terms.

10. I think the Obama administration's strategy for negotiating with Republicans has three major flaws.
Wed May 15, 2013, 03:32 PM
May 2013

The first is that President Obama seems to operate under the assumption that the Republican party is actually interested in governing: Yes, "reaching across the isle" is a noble endeavor, but the other party actually has to be interested in the well being of the country for it to work. This current Republican party is not, and because of that, the president's efforts are wasted.

The second is that all these negotiations seem to be around short term things: Although I would strongly object to it, I could conceivably see why PBO would offer to cut SS if he got something like increased taxes on the wealthy for the foreseeable future (5-8-10 year span). The difference between the Democratic party and the Republican party is that the Democrats make demands on a year by year basis (raise taxes for the fiscal year, etc) while the Republicans make demands in the hopes that they will have long term intentions (cripple SS so we can get rid of it later on).

The third flaw is that the "charm offense" is that it is too reactionary of a strategy: I honestly wish that the progressive caucus and the administration convened and outlined what is NOT acceptable to offer up in negotiations. It seems to me like the administration's strategy is: "Let's make one offer. If they say no, let's keep offering up more". Again, I understand the importance of reaching across the isle, but as Senator Sanders said (and I paraphrase), offering up something like SS isn't worth raising a few taxes over, and it only serves to polarize the party. Instead of asking the Republicans "what can I do to meet you halfway?, President Obama should be asking them "What will YOU do to meet me halfway?". You know, start negotiations on his own terms rather than the Republican's terms.

I honestly don't expect PBO to "declare war" on specific members of congress. I do realize that he has to keep some semblance of being "the adult in the room". However, he can call out the right wing without coming off as overly confrontational. Look at his reaction to the background check vote failing, for an example.
