Republicans vote to boycott CNN, NBC debates if Clinton specials air

Published August 16, 2013 FoxNews.com

The Republican National Committee has voted to boycott any presidential primary debates planned by CNN and NBC if they proceed with lengthy television features on Hillary Clinton, widely expected to be a 2016 Democratic candidate.

With no audible dissent, GOP officials approved a resolution backing the position at their annual summer meeting in Boston on Friday.

The RNC claims that a Clinton-themed documentary and a separate miniseries -- in the works from CNN and NBC, respectively -- will put a "thumb on the scales" in the upcoming 2016 presidential election.

The draft resolution, obtained by Fox News in advance and later voted on by RNC officials, calls on CNN and NBC to cancel what it describes as "political ads masked as unbiased entertainment."

am not sure their boycott will be effective. I would almost bet when the Clinton-themed documentary is shown Old Rushie and Shame will rant and rave for weeks about what was on the show so there will be Republican members watching. I have seen very few programs on FOX which is easy on Democrats, so what is new.

They're cover to allow the RNC to bring the debate process inside the RW sound bubble for the faithful, and to limit exposure of their crackpot candidates to the outside world.

Remember, the GOP opposed reinstatement of the Fairness Doctrine. What a bunch of whiners...

“It’s my bat and ball, so I get four strikes!”

Remember the rude little brat who lived in your neighborhood, the kid always thought the rules of various childhood games should be bent to make sure he or she got special treatment?

It looks like a lot of those kids grew up to be Republicans.

The Republican Party is so frightened and intimidated by the idea of facing Hillary Clinton in the 2016 presidential election that it’s already torturing what little logic it still possesses in a bid to get CNN to cancel its plans for a documentary on the former first lady, US senator and secretary of state. If that’s not bad enough, the GOP (Goofy Outlandish Pinheads?) is also trying to get NBC to cancel plans for a miniseries on Hillary Clinton. According to Fox News, Republicans believe that such programs will “put a thumb on the scales” as the 2016 presidential election draws closer.

But by voting Friday in Boston to boycott CNN and NBC if the networks go forward with plans for the programs, Republicans are threatening not to weigh in at all – unless, of course, the scales are pre-skewed in their favor.
