Did you hear Mitt's comments about government employees tonight?

Something about them having better jobs and benefits than the taxpayers they serve.

So who wants to speculate on his fix for that? Will he raise up the American working class so we all have good pay and benefits, or will he equalize things by dragging federal workers down to the lowest common denominator?

They talk about the politics of envy, but why aren't we ALL demanding better jobs and benefits, rather than trying to take them away from people who have them?

Even if he couldn't allow private firms to directly own government functions and make their money by asset-stripping and slashing them, he'd call in management consultants at huge expense to fire as many people as they could get away with.

It wasnt long ago that working for the government was considered a step down from working in the private sector.

Its people like Romney and his hedge fund asshat buddies that have forced corporate america into ever declining wages and benefits so they could increase profit margins.

believe they haven't already. After all, most of us don't get pensions these day. Why should out tax dollars pay for someone else's?

I don't advocate them doing that but it's only a matter of time. That ought to wake some people up.

everyone in administration be okay with such a major pay cut?

Not liking science type things like math and statistics the countless studies that show there is already parity when factors like education and years on the job are taken into account
they can go on blathering their lies

I would say that a good teacher works harder and does more good in the world than the average congressman... so we should adjust such pay accordingly.
and so on

and those great health care benefits:

$770 in premiums per month
$600 deductible per
20% co-insurance to $5,600

Basically a high deductible plan pretending to be an insurance plan. Damn those cushy jobs.

I have two Masters degrees and a Doctorate. I've worked my entire life and many of my colleagues are in the same boat! I didn't hear any of us complain when Congress and the president put a freeze on COLA pay and hiring. Unlike Mitt Romney and his greedy supporters, we federal employees understand that sometimes we must sacrifice for the good of the country.
