(1,957 posts)it would have been an impeachable offense.
The question I have had since Nov of 2008 is why he surrounded himself with so many bad advisors. And why he listened to them.
Like convening a committee of CEOs who had worked so hard to outsource and offshore jobs to try to find a solution to the jobs problem.
Or a committee of hardline anti-social service people to try to figure out what parts of our budget need to be trimmed.
On occasion I have seen this congress do the right thing for the wrong reasons. Doesn't make up for all the things they do wrong but at least we get a little relief.

(3,978 posts)Obama's National security team is indeed feeding him bad advice. This would have made it hard on the Democratic party for mid term elections, because he is the face of the Democratic party until his term is completed. Thus, many Democrats fighting for their seats would have been in a problematic position and that is defend unilateral executive action without the consent of Congress.
Now, it makes things a lot more interesting and possibly divides the Republican party for now.

(59,474 posts)the decision to go to the Senate. (Kerry was FOR getting a resolution on Libya - but there was not support. )
It seems that there was a heated discussion - with some on each side. (I think the SOD, SOS were not in the meeting as CNN said that they were called about the decision. ) It seems like you are speaking of people like Rice and Powers who have no history with Congress.

(4,510 posts)to move troops around. He could do a strike pretty easily like how Clinton sent cruise missles after bin laden in 1998. He probably can't send troops in though. But let's be real here we've been arming the rebels for months so we're already involved. What's a drone strike or 2 now? We already have blood on our hands.
