I was for the strike before I saw this.....Horrible sequence...

We have no idea what’s going on over there and have no business trying the hit or miss strategy.
Our intelligence probably relies on people who have their own agenda and this is not new to us..

We are not going to fix this situation unless its done with unilateral support, even then it will still be sketchy..

Stay the hell out of there until we know what the hell for certain is going on...

I don't believe the Obama administration is proposing to join the wider war, beyond sending arms to "good" rebels, which is already a done deal. I don't think we should choose a winner, but I also understand that WMD use can't be ignored. It's a tough situation.

Does anyone really believe that a desperate man like Assad, who is looking at ending up like Mussolini...is going to not use every weapon at his disposal to keep that from happening?

He'll probably use them again...if it comes to a question of survival!

a group of people, some of whom are allied with Al Qaeda. At the same time using AQ as the boogeyman for everything that's wrong in the world. Seems like the US Govt. should make up its mind.

Then you live in an alternative universe, not this one.

eta: this OP provides a bare-bones sketch of US "non-involvement"
http://www.democraticunderground.com/10023604162

"bare-bones" because the whole litany of US/Saudi collusion to start, fund, equip and train/fund mercenary Jihadists to destroy Syria and foment a region-wide civil war will require a book (or books), which are no doubt already being written.
