Former GOP Delegate, Senator Endorse Mark Herring, Rip Mark Obenshain as "Extremist"

Even Virginia Republicans are bolting from the wacked-out, extremist ticket of Ken "Kookinelli," EW "Planned Parenthood's worse than the KKK" Jackson, and Mark "Criminalize Miscarriages and Contraception" Obenshain. Gotta love it. Now, we just have to get our voters to the polls in Virginia in 50 days or so, as Colorado demonstrated last night what can happen if Dems stay home!

With its educated, densely populated poly-cultural north, you'd think the Virginia Republicans would pick candidates that would appeal to the more conservative among that very important demographic. As noted, the fact that they went in the opposite direction suggests they prefer the fanatic extremists to moderates who would appeal to Northern Virginia Republicans.

If Koochiecrazy really is dragging the VA GOP down, so be it. He'll still have guys like Richard Viguerie fighting for him, and Richard is a formidable behind-the-scenes fundraiser for the radical right, not to be underestimated. But even Richard and all his money friends can't make the worst of extremists appeal to the affluent, educated moderate Republicans of Arlington and Fairfax Counties. Not all of these Republicans vote their party blindly like their counterparts downstate. Virginia is not Oklahoma.
