(Reuters) - Hillary Clinton acknowledges that she is wrestling with whether to run for the U.S. presidency in 2016, well aware of the "political and governmental challenges" she would face if she wins.
The former U.S. secretary of state and first lady said in an interview with New York magazine that has not decided if she will run and is trying to be "both pragmatic and realistic."
"I'm not in any hurry," Clinton told the magazine in an article posted on its website on Sunday. "I think it's a serious decision, not to be made lightly, but it's also not one that has to be made soon."

"I think I have a pretty good idea of the political and governmental challenges that are facing our leaders," she said. "And I'll do whatever I can from whatever position I find myself in to advocate for the values and the policies I think are right for the country."

FIND SOME, AMERICA! I don't want to hear her root for war and everyone refight the last campaign and Bill's own bush problem.

All I know is it is a mess and if this is due to Hillary then I say "hell no".

(59,501 posts)That was even true for when Obama and Hillary Clinton took their offices. The neo cons thought that an invasion of Iraq could change the entire face of the Middle East -- and it did. The area was long a powder keg - and many countries exploded under Obama.
I think it better to look at what might be new positive trends - not there until very recently. Obama this Tuesday will per various articles speak of the new potential diplomatic options. It looks like there is agreement to remove chemical weapons from Syria and Ban Ki-Moon, Lavrov and Kerry are meeting for the next step - Geneva 2 talks to get a diplomatic solution to the civil war. There is also Iran - where there are new hopes that there can be diplomacy. Lastly, there are the Israeli/Palestinian talks - that everyone said even last June that Kerry was delusional in thinking could be brought about.
It is far too early to say that any of these will work out - but if any of them does, it will be a great accomplishment for Obama and for Syria and I/P - John Kerry. In fact, oddly, the thing that could help Hillary the most is for John Kerry to really be the best Secretary of State the country has ever had ( pretty tough given some past ompetition - like Marshall and some of the very earliest SoS) If things are still a mess, she could blame Kerry, but if they are in better shape, she runs on the foreign policy of the Obama administration - ignoring what she did vs what Kerry did. The latter has to be better.

(13,616 posts)For
A) hiring her and a horde of Clinton stooges in positions
B) never straying from Clinton policy like many of us elected him to do.
Then that means we will be stuck with her simply because she is not Marco Rubio or Rand Paul.
Ah, well if she could learn to live with Bill Clinton despite the fact he cannot be loyal to her, I guess we might have to tolerate the fact that Bill will be doing his best to f with us behind the scenes, liek getting that damned Keystone pipeline in.

Still waiting for her to explain exactly what IT people and engineers are supposed to train for after their jobs are outsourced.
Funny, the DLC/Third Way sycophants don't have an answer.

(37,152 posts)There isn't an answer -maybe they will come around if a real alternative runs. But that (hopefully populist) alternative will need a first-rate team of wordsmiths to wake the people up!
