The reason the RNC "slow jam" mockery ad against Obama WON'T work...

This ad, for all of its snarkiness, fails the one essential test of efficacy: You can't beat something with nothing!

The ad tears into Obama's popularity and says "what has it gotten you?" but fails to say what Romney has to offer as an alternate. Where and what is his plan? What would he do differently? Why is his experience as a businessman who put people out of work so important to voters who may already have been on the receiving end of exactly that practice?

More of the same cannot work for Romney: peddling those Bush tax cuts for the wealthy? Really? Less regulation on business? what do you have in mind...tell us what regulations you would relax or abolish and what the effects would be, let's hear it. Oh, and is there anything else you have to offer but those two "remedies"?

OK, I'll answer my own question. Here's what else the republicans have offered: privatizing Medicare which would drive up health care costs for seniors. Cutting out middle class tax deductions they now have, driving up the taxes they will owe. Oh, and don't forget you voters with elderly parents heading for a nursing home through Medicaid. Too bad, you will have to foot that bill at the same time you are trying to plan your own retirement. See how that does wonders for the economy?

I can't wait to see what the Dems will do in response to this ad. But I'll bet it will be great!

. . . no rhythm. I mean if you can't slow jam . . . there's not much hope for you.

Remember it was ok for Ashcroft to sing "Let the Eagle Soar . . . blah, blah, blah."

This desperate attempt to paint Obama's popularity as somehow being a bad thing will fall of its own weight...

obviously love him, Romney couldn't touch the President's personality and charisma. Now we have the Correspondent's Dinner coming up and we all know the President, along with Kimmel, will be great entertainment. The more they protest the sillier and weaker their point becomes. It must suck to be them.

3. but that's the point of the ad. It's the classic case that repubs always make: attack

the opponent's strength. They did this to John Kerry and his military record. Back then, Dems didn't see it coming and were caught off guard. Now we know this game.

So basically, the dems have to run ads pointing to Romney's supposed "strengths." That can be done by using his own words, his own far out positions (taken during the primary fight).

Since Romney doesn't really stand for anything, you end up having a case of trying to beat something with nothing...

run the ad.

I thought it made Obama look funny and smart and Romney insincere with his 'breathy' platitudes.

Because, of course, there is no "core" there! There is no message.

9. Privatizing Medicare will drive up EVERYBODY'S Costs

Privatizing Medicare will drive up EVERYBODY'S Costs. This is because Medicare sets a bottom line on the max a medical manufacturer can gouge , and those prices are often used for other non-Medicare patients.

Also when insurance companies refuse to acknowledge certain procedures are useful, the patient pays full cost. But when MC adds those procedures as useful, then insurance companies must also cover.
