2016 Postmortem
Related: About this forumFlorida's going to be VERY BRUTAL
Biggest state so far. Not a peep from the Alien from Outter Space, most loved Governor in the Country, on who he will endorce. Do they want HIS endorsement? Yep, could get ugly, but interesting watching the dwindling clown car and them eating their own.
Obama must be smiling at all this.

(19,348 posts)It may not be a bad thing if Romney takes Florida then loses the next few. Let the GOP fight amongst themselves.

(37,540 posts)I think he's got to knock out Newt now. That means ramping up his ethics problems as Speaker, his marriage fidelity problem. I'd throw in Tiffany's, but somehow, Mitt is the wrong guy to be talking about suspect lines of credit. But if they have any dirt, they have to shovel it on Newt now...or Miott's campaign is over.

(17,493 posts)and he will spend a large chunk of it for TV advertisements in Florida. Newt will lash back in a much more limited fashion.
Since I live in Florida and I hate negative political advertisements, I will just have to avoid watching the local stations for the next few weeks or I will have to record them and zap the political ads.
Florida is a closed primary state and since I am a registered Democrat, I can't vote in the Republican primary. If it was an open primary I would vote for Newt as I know that if he wins Florida, the leadership of the Republican party will have a conniption fit.

I think Mitt's implosion in SC tells us that his support is shallow and narrow. The more edit - change to Newt powers out in front, I can see more Republican primary voters opting to cast their lot with Newt (even with his negatives) than hang with a guy that clearly is not "one of them" and may be a stealth Northeast Liberal. Mitt should be worried and I don't think money is going to compensate for the growing problems Mitt is facing.
And Newt's got some serious money backers that might be ready to dump a lot of money into the race to help him. They're talking upwards of $10MM for Newt in FL. I'm sorry you (and every Democrat) has to suffer through this primary....there's going to be huge ad buys by both candidates to trash their opponent. Sucks that you can't "opt out" of these ads.
Just reporting that Jeb won't be endorsing Mitt...hmmm.

(17,493 posts)Unfortunately I will have to try to avoid all the commercials that Romney and Newt will buy in the local markets in Florida.
But fortunately I have the ability to record the programs and zap those commercials. Modern technology is cool when it works.

(23,521 posts)where newt and Reverend Sharpton worked together on education. The video is out there. There's also newt working with Pelosi.
republicans are gonna get all pissy when they see it.
Rev Al of course stated that newt totally dropped the ball on this education project.

(11,045 posts)As someone said in LBN, Romney will say anything, but didn't know what to say in SC. Newt, from GA, knew it backwards.

(14,337 posts)But the same flyer my husband got in the mail, was included in our local newspaper. That must have cost a lot of money to add it to all the newspapers sold here.
Edit: He did get something from Rand, not Ron, Paul. Forgot that one.
I hope Newt makes it.
