I don't know if they count the baby who died as one of the seven.

Mitt has 5 and Palin had a bunch too. Must be a republican thing.

I come from a big, Hispanic, Catholic family. I am one of 9 children. Both my parents were born in 1922. They were raised Catholic and did follow the church's teachings. However, my mother, a nurse, believed that birth control use should be decided by the individual, not the church, not the state.

I couldn't imagine life without one of my sisters and brothers. I am grateful for all of them. My youngest brother died in infancy so I do not know what his political beliefs would be, however, of the remaining 8 of us, 7 are liberal to left leaning. Two are atheists and most are not religious and aren't sure about god. My parents were registered Republicans, but only because the Dems of El Norteno(northern NM) were so heavy-handed and mafia-like in their approach to dissenters when my parents were young. And although they were Republicans, my parents voted for Clinton. My mother died before the 2000 election, but my dad voted for Gore, and despised GWB.

So, when you wield that broad brush, remember how it might color some incorrectly.

I'm the seventh of eight kids. We're not catholic, and the vast majority of us are liberal.

Big families rock!

19. In your parents' generation, pre modern birth control, this was far more common.

And Santorum is on record as opposing birth control. His family is the living embodiment of his moral beliefs -- the ones he'd ike to impose on the rest of us. He's far out of touch with most voters.

Ugh.....

I just thought his sons all standing around in the sweater vests was creepy...the older son standing behind him over his right shoulder was very odd....i was trying to not watch him but he just kept drawing my attention away from his father....

Sorry, the idea of Santorums family being the model for America is birth control in itself.....

21. "Special"???

Yes, he's special. While Catholics use contraception at the same rate, Santorum is the one who has said that banning birth control should be a state's rights issue. States Rights has always been the wolf whistle for bigoted, repressive laws that appeal to the very religious right-wing. Phttuy on that!!

as candidates for the general election, they may as well concede now.

Santorum: Baby breeder for future votes for the Republican Party
Gingrich: Adulterer
Romney: Dog abuser and tax evader
