Rather interesting ... ACA and (theoretical) FB 'bagger

always posting anti-Obama, NRA, "big gummint" stuff.

Yesterday, he posted the "commentary" from someone who "finally" logged into the "Obamacare site", and found that he would be penalized $4500 for not signing up.

Recognizing this, I turned to snopes (not exactly known to be lefty-friendly, but willing to debunk BOTH sides).

My simple reply to his post (and I don't respond to many things my family, friends/acquaintences post politically), was simply the link to the snopes article pointing out it was mostly false, where it had done the math to point out that, to be penalized $4500, the person would have had to be making OVER $400,000 a year (kinda like a plumbing business making $250,000 PROFIT a year) and should be able to afford insurance coverage like Congress gets.

This morning, I signed back into Facebook, prepared for the vehement onslaught.

"Thanks for the facts (zbdent)."

on many subjects political.

I tried to correct an old friend, yesterday, I'd spent hours correcting the lies she'd been told by the media. She was accusing Obama of spending ALL those trillions and as soon as I said the two wars were put on the credit card during the Bush administration, she immediately shook her head and said, "No, that is all Obama's debt." Man, he'd have to be out there spending money 48 hours per day at billions/hour to accomplish that.

I've finally given up on ever convincing her she is wrong.

I'll say one thing, the Republicans' propaganda machine has sure worked.

just isn't very good at business. They can get wiped out with medical costs for something expensive just as much as a poor person, because they won't have the price negotiating power of an insurance company. It is an unnecessary risk.
