Christie Says Romney Apologized For Book Leaks

TOM KLUDT – NOVEMBER 5, 2013, 2:44 PM EST

New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie (R) said Tuesday that he received an apology from Mitt Romney for unflattering details published in a book that chronicles the 2012 presidential election.

"Mitt called me right away, and I could tell he was really embarrassed and outraged about it," Christie told CNN's Jake Tapper.

The book "Double Down" by John Heilemann and Mark Halperin depicts tension between Christie and the Romney camp. One Romney aide leaked details that emerged after Christie was vetted to be a potential running mater, including concerns about the governor's health. The book also indicates that Romney was known to make fun of Christie's weight.

Christie called the vetting leaks "very disappointing. I think it’s a complete violation of trust of me and the spirit within which I entered that process," he told Tapper.

It does not take Mitt Romney very much rope.
