New Jersey's Shame

Last edited Wed Nov 6, 2013, 03:25 AM - Edit history (2)

Democrats in Jersey supported a closet right-wing moron to be governor of their state a second time. During Christie's time in office, the state is worse off than it was when he was elected.
9th highest unemployment rate in the union
multi-billion deficits every year in office, one of the worst in the union
according to 24/7 Wall Street, the 46th worst run state in the union

Hang your head in shame citizens of New Jersey, as EVERY part of the state but the area around Newark voted to put Christie back in office.
a third of Democrats voted for Christie.
over 60% of independents voted for Christie
35% of people who have a favorable opinion of the Democratic party voted for Christie
a majority, 51%, of Hispanics voted for Christie
You voted to put one of the poorest state chief executives back in office to do it again. Good Luck....you're going to need it.

even some on mnbc called him a moderate p-u - all I heard was how great he managed Sandy - not, how he was a moderate - not, how he could reach across the aisle - had no choice. No one would go into how much money he lost the state all the deals he made for his buddies, like the friend he appointed to the senate for 2 months that will now get 63K a year for life, like his no bid deal to Florida company that is not approved by FEMA, jeopardizing the refunds to the towns.

Now I do give him props for how he dealt with President Obama, though I wouldn't have expected him to be a TP a-hole when he needed a handout and all the resources the US Gov't could muster in the event of a crisis like Sandy.

He lost cred in my mind when he scheduled a separate election weeks apart at an additional cost to the state of $24 million at a time when the state is broke like everyone else, all in the name of politics and didn't seem to suffer any blowback. Are there no other credible Democratic candidates in New Jersey?

He demonstrated that he could put the people of New Jersey first ahead of the tea baggers when all over the country the Republicans are selling out their constituents to stick to tea bag "principles".

Compare him to the tea baggers who won't even admit Obama is a US citizen and have tried to deligitimize Obama every step of the way and you can see the difference.

People want opposition between the parties, but they don't want that opposition to be so strong that it brings all government to a standstill, as shown during the government shutdown.

So NJ gave Christie a pass on the issues.
