Democratic Governors Associations Chairman Peter Shumlin (D) told reporters at a Christian Science Monitor-sponsored meeting on Thursday that Democrat Terry McAuliffe's victory in this week's Virginia gubernatorial election is spurring Democrats to go on the offensive in 2014.
"These are the states that I'm optimistic about for the reason that these governors have done exactly what Cuccinelli has done," he said, referring to Democratic governor-elect Terry McAuliffe's narrow win over Attorney General Ken Cuccinelli (R).

IF we were to unseat all 7 republicans listed up in the OP article - plus if Wendy wins Perry's seat in Texas (and McAullife-VA will be added Jan 2014) - then we'd flip the majority ....

Everyday that man stays in office is another day of disaster capitalism for Ohio. His privatized jobs plan aka as RobsOhio is stealing billions of dollars of state tax money. Operations as simple as highway maintenance have been taken over by the epically incompetent. Our schools are being looted to send billions of dollars into the hands of corrupt "business" people like David Brennan at White Hat for failing charter schools. The government employees I know are aghast at the level of incompetence and corruption in this administration. It will take decades to repair the damage this man and his corrupt cronies have done to Ohio.

otherwise known as theft) of 50 million dollars from the Ohio State University with Kasich's pal Mark Kvamme's brand new investment fund by the outgoing and disgraced university president Gordon Gee. The university's own investment expert refused, but was overruled and or coerced to go along.
He gets little national attention for his massive level of corruption. His medicare expansion scam was praised in the MSM while being a massive fail for the citizens of Ohio. It will only be expanded for two years and then will be stopped because it was done through the Ohio Controlling Board rather than passed through the legislature. It may well be overturned in court as it may not be allowed under the state constitution. Kasich is extraordinarily cynical and may well be the biggest psychopath in politics since Dick Cheney. He is a very dangerous man who is given a pass by the national media for some strange reason.
Kasich is a crook and is getting away with it. We can only hope the citizens wake up and vote this criminal out of office along with his fellow crooks, Husted the Secretary of Voter Suppression and Josh Mandel the most corrupt and incompetent auditor ever installed in office in Ohio and Mike DeWine the worst Attorney General ever.

Pence has been a milquetoast on just about every issue (or, should I say NO issue because he hasn't done SQUAT except ribbon cuttings since he got elected) & I can see the TeaBagger contingent - with whom the stupid is extra STRONG in this state - trying to 'primary' him or run a Nutbag from the far-right.
