GOP blocks key Obama court nominee in Senate vote
AP foreign, Tuesday November 12 2013
ALAN FRAM
Associated Press= WASHINGTON (AP) - Senate Republicans have blocked another of President Barack Obama's picks for one of the nation's top courts.
Tuesday's near-party line vote derailed Obama's selection of Georgetown University law professor Cornelia Pillard to fill one of three vacancies on the U.S. Court of Appeals for the District of Columbia Circuit. It was the latest skirmish in a long-running nominations battle that has intensified partisan tensions in the Senate.
The vote was 56-41 in favor of ending GOP procedural delays that have blocked Pillard from winning confirmation. But that was four votes short of the 60 votes Democrats needed.
The D.C. circuit court is considered one of the nation's most powerful because it rules on administration orders and regulations. Its eight current justices are divided evenly between Democratic and Republican nominees.

The Republicans have broken their 2005 pledge not to block nominees except in extreme circumstances.

Actually, didn't you have two filibuster agreements with the GOP?
You mean McConnell lied to your face?
Big surprise.

From your link:
"Should Republicans block Professor Pillard's confirmation, as I feel they will, the Senate will then vote on cloture to a bill (H.R. 3204).to enhance safeguards at compounding pharmacies, which create custom-tailored medications for patients with unique health needs."

Collins (R-ME) and Murkowski (R-AK) voted 'yes' with the Democrats
Hatch (R-UT) voted 'present'
Not Voting: Inhofe (R-OK) and Johanns (R-NE)
Note: Reid (D-NV) changed his vote from 'yes to no' due to procedural rules so that he can bring the nomination back to the floor again in the future.
