The media never asks the GOP to be specific about its plan to make health care more practical.

(63,901 posts)plan, e.g. Romneycare, on which to base the national plan. The repukes don't want a federal plan, period. This is the major ideological divide. What they are saying is "let red states devise their own plan, like Romney did for MA." Of course, they know full well repukes in those states won't do it. I wonder how long it will be before the people of those states organize and rise up against the republican establishment.

2. Selling insurance across state lines
How either of these things will serve to make things better in terms of helping people obtain quality affordable health insurance is anybody's guess...........

(24,406 posts)utterly worthless unless you have a ton of money to invest in it (which, of course, most people don't- largely thanks to Republican policies). Unfortunately, it is about the only affordable plan my job offers.

(50,552 posts)The GOP wants to give everyone a tax cut so they can buy insurance from the Free Market.
Exactly how large of a tax cut we're supposed to use to ensure someone who earns $2000/month will be able to afford both a $1200/month health insurance policy and payments on the van they live down by the river in, they don't say.
