http://www.msnbc.com/rachel-maddow-show/reid-readies-nuclear-option"Thankfully for proponents, Republican obstructionism has reached such unprecedented radicalism that Democrats who were skeptical have been pushed into the reformers camp. Sen. Dianne Feinstein (D-Calif.), for example, has long been reluctant to support the change, but announced yesterday that shes changed her mind unconscionable Republican tactics have led her to support the nuclear tactic.
I have not yet seen a firm vote count on this, but rumor has it that Sens. Joe Manchin (D-W.Va.), Max Baucus (D-Mont.), Carl Levin (D-Mich.), Chris Coons (D-Del.), and Claire McCaskill (D-Mo.) are not yet on board, with Levin, who is retiring next year, maintaining his role as the fiercest opponent of the change".
WTF Levin & Baucus, they're retiring next year anyhow, what do they care!......The status quo can't continue, judicial nominees being filibustered for no other reason than the GOP didn't like the results of the 2012 election.

(14,036 posts)1. OK, let's start the "will Harry really do it?" threads. Again.
Every time I've said he won't. He won't. C'mon, surprise me Harry. Make me wrong.

IF it happens, it will be a major victory for the American people.
The Senate (by its very nature) has been a thorn in the side of progress in this nation for as long as we have had our current government (since 1787). Weakening the capacity for small-population states to obstruct progress in the Senate will be a major benefit to us all.

Enough with the Senatorial Minuet - its time to stick a fork in the filibuster. Failure to do so will kill any democratic legislative agenda.
