Bobby Baker and the Senate Sex days

WOW- what a read. Bobby Baker, one time wheeler and dealer, tells all about his days as LBJ's right hand man with tales of Kennedy, Lyndon, Gerald Ford, Dirkson and all the former Senate greats.
Talk about your days of Wine and Roses, reads like the Senate was a frat house with Kennedy right there in the forefront. Sort of takes the luster off the day of remembrance when you read about his and Ford's raunchy times with a East German alleged spy who his brother , Robert, had deported just before the scandal was about to break.

I'm glad there was an opportunity for Baker to set down his remembrances. It confirms my feeling that Everett Dirksen was an honorable man, and that Bob Kerr was an evil motherfucker. (Still can't quite accept the notion of Jacob Javits as a sexual athlete, though).

I've heard some notorious second-hand tales about his beltway sex adventures.....

but I did go out with his son once, and - well, to put it kindly - he was pretty grabby. I got nervous when we ended up on the dark country road after whatever it was we did for a date, which I don't remember. I made him take me home. That was the end of that budding workplace romance.

Especially about the only Liberal President we've had and on the memorial day of his horrendous murder. Were you born yet when JFK was killed? I don't know anyone who doesn't have a frozen memory of where they were at that moment....Democrat or Republican or whatever.

Post all the garbage you wish, but do me a favor and don't post any BS about Jesus on December 25th either. Because I"ll be on your ass for that, too and I'm an agnostic.

I was 21 and remember the day, the moment of the assassination. Second, all - REPEAT - ALL men have feet of clay, don't glorify and exult someone who should have acted as the prince that he is being portrayed as. "ONLY liberal president", try Jimmy Carter and Harry Truman wasn't that bad, nor that guy from who , like Kennedy, had a fondness for the BJ. Third, Jesus was probably married, probably had brothers, and hung around with guys alot. But I won't destroy your fantasy land by telling you about Santa Claus and the Easter bunny.

"On my ass"- Oh, my I'm shaking and tingling at the same time.

Too many grad units in Theology, some of them literalist and others quite liberal...but I honor his cultural importance and what he, or his monastic group of Essenes or the like, were doing and preaching and helping to drag humans out of Barbarianism.

And Santa Claus and the Easter bunny...just can't keep the snark down, eh? No matter...snark away. Bothers me not a bit. A check of the Beatitudes and being a Democrat every now and again keeps me at least trying.

Peace.

If you want to keep that outrage going, check out Ross Douthat's column in today's New York Times. He's not very nice to JFK, either.
