Dems Call Out GOPers Who Wanted Obama Impeachment

DANIEL STRAUSS – DECEMBER 30, 2013, 9:56 AM EST

The Democratic National Committee wants supporters to remember which lawmaker suggested impeaching President Barack Obama.

In the recent fundraising email, the DNC highlighted quotes by Rep. Michele Bachmann (R-MN), Sen. James Inhofe (R-OK), Rep. Kerry Bentivolio (R-MI), and Rep. Blake Farenthold (R-TX), all of whom have suggested moving to impeach the president.

"What do these people all have in common?" the email read before quoting Inhofe saying "People may be starting to use the I-word before too long."

"We can have an impeachment hearing in the House and in my mind the president has committed impeachable offenses," Bachmann is quoted as saying in the email.

Is the president a Democrat? In to-day's United States, that is the necessary pre-condition.

Nixon deserved impeachment, even some Republicans at the time thought so; but other Republicans wanted revenge. Jimmy Carter dealt with a House of Representatives that had a Democratic majority; but the press was not that friendly with Carter. Carter was clean, and after leaving the presidency became a better person.

Bill Clinton was a Democrat with a House of Republicans. Hillary Clinton was correct when she said, "This is — the great story here for anybody willing to find it and write about it and explain it is this vast right-wing conspiracy that has been conspiring against my husband since the day he announced for president".

Barack Obama has the same situation with two additional problems: the Republicans are getting progressively crazier and nastier, and there is a racial bias against Obama (that i need not elaborate upon).

The spectre of impeachment will disappear when there is a Democratic Congress.

I say that we just use their standards for determining when to call for the impeachment of a Democratic President- that is to say, we should NOT call for impeachment until or unless one of our Presidents fail to respond appropriately to the threat of a major terrorist attack that results in a loss of life, launches an unprovoked war based on false/misleading intelligence, fails to respond adequately/competently to a natural disaster, etc.
